Paint overspray happens when nearby painters apply a fresh coat of paint to the house or building without covering the surrounding areas. It’s not uncommon that painting and other property maintenance affects your solar panel’s ability absorb sunlight. Paint overspray can coat a solar panels glass with small paint particles, preventing it from producing optimal energy output. The longer paint is left to harden and adhere to the glass, the harder it is to remove, sometimes causing long lasting panel problems. In most cases, paint can cause even more sunlight blockage than regular dirt! Paint is extremely difficult to remove, OnPoint takes every precaution to protect your solar panels, removing pesky paint spots without damaging glass.
Usually, paint overspray is recognized while cleaning the solar panels. If we do a routine cleaning of your panels and notice paint overspray during our cleaning, we will notify you right away. If a water source is on site but not located in close vicinity to the solar panels we have hundreds of feet of hosing to connect to and bring the water to where we need it. The positives of our system include the flexibility to use long hosing without needing the pressure a standard pressure washer needs in order to function properly.
We are able to bring in our own water by renting water haulers or water trucks if needed. Water transportation can be a bit tricky and add higher costs towards the job. We try to avoid this as much as possible to provide our customers with the best price viable. Our solar cleaning system gives us the ability to draw water from great distances and can save more money for our customers whenever possible.
